This notice explains what personal information Rugs Land collects, why, and your rights. We are the data controller: Farmanullah Sayed, trading as Rugs Land, 25 Brunswick Street, Luton LU2 0HF (showroom: Cinch Self Storage, Cherry Tree Rd, Watford WD24 6SB), rugslanduk@gmail.com.
What we collect
- When you contact us or ask for a viewing: your name, email, phone number and message.
- When you order: your name, email, phone, delivery and billing address, what you bought and how much you paid. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never receive your full card number.
- When you return something: the reason you give and any photos you send, kept with your order.
- When you create an account: your sign-in details (your password is stored scrambled, never in readable form) and your saved addresses.
- When you browse: basic technical information (pages visited, device type, approximate country) and the cookies described in our Cookies policy.
Why we use it
- To answer your messages and arrange viewings (our legitimate interest in replying to you).
- To take, deliver, return and support your orders, and keep business and tax records (contract and legal obligation).
- To send marketing emails, only if you have agreed; every email has an unsubscribe link (consent).
- To keep the website secure and stop fraud (legitimate interest).
Who we share it with
Only services that help us run the shop: Stripe (payments), DPD and our own van drivers (name, address and phone, for delivery), and our email and hosting providers. Maps on our pages are shown by Google. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
Order, return and invoice records for 6 years (tax law). Messages and viewing requests for 2 years after our last contact. Accounts until you ask us to close them.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it or withdraw your consent. Email rugslanduk@gmail.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
